Try
That Style
A signature element in the
1950’s style kitchen is the liberal use of bright colors. Patterned fabrics and
wallpaper amp up the fun retro feel, too. Update the look with black and white
tiles to form a checkered pattern on the floor. For the backsplash, subway
tiles in unexpected color create a cohesive and visually interesting look.
You may also want to introduce space-saving solutions to
the kitchen. Position your refrigerator and stove to continue along the
countertop line. And just like in the 1950’s, display appliances in chrome
finish (like a retro-inspired mixer, toaster, and coffee maker) on your counter
to make for pretty and functional accessories.
