DIY Empty Bottles Rustic Décor

DIY Empty Bottles Rustic Décor

In this recycling project, empty wine bottles are transformed into rustic décor.

Materials:
Empty wine or beer bottles
Yarn, twine or rope
Super Glue

Re-Do It
1.    Strip the bottles of their labels. For stubborn labels, soak bottles in water overnight. Don’t worry if the label doesn’t get removed completely, as it’s surface will be covered with twine.
2.
Apply a drop of two of super glue close to the bottom edge of the bottle, and adhere the loose end of the string. Let dry.
3.
Wrap the bottles, starting from the bottom. Work your way up.
4.
Continue wrapping, applying glue every inch or so. Make sure there are no gaps between the rows of string.
5.
Once you reach the top of the bottle (or the desired end point) glue the end of the string in place. Wrap a second layer of string if necessary.

TIPS:
Alternate different colors of twine or yarn for a more playful touch
Other containers can be twine wrapped into décor, try water jugs, tall bottles and tumblers and even mayonnaise jars.
